From July-September you can grab a pair of scissors, a yellow bucket and pick your own flowers in a field of beautiful blooms. I try to get to Brittany Hollow farm a few times a year.
“U-Pick Flowers” is located on the W. side of Rt. 9 between Red Hook and Rhinebeck, NY.
They are open 7am to 7pm.
According to their website:
“Brittany Hollow is an family-owned and operated farm in Rhinebeck, NY. Our family has been growing pesticide-free produce and beautiful cut flowers for over 20 years.”
$10 per 1-gallon bucket.
$12 if you take the bucket home with you.
How neat is that!!!! They provide the buckets, scissors and rubber bands. The rubber bands are good if you decide to forgo the bucket.
There isn’t anyone there to check you in. They must be a very trusting family. They leave it to you to do the right thing. I’d assume all people do. Bring cash because you deposit the fee into a safety box.
After that it’s off you go to make you’re bouquet. Time to put Sean to work.
Butterflies were everywhere!!!!!
There were rows of basil, parsley and sage.
Aside from his constant sneezing due to his allergies, Sean said it was super relaxing and fun. LOL
Here’s our finished product. It only cost $10.
Take the kids or make a date of it. Either way it’s always best to support local families. Enjoy!!
