I made a super easy homemade jam. We went strawberry picking so we had so many. This made enough to fit in a large mason jar. My guess is two full cups worth.
What you’ll need:
-4 cups of strawberries
-2 cups of granulated sugar
-Juice of one lemon
Place a small plate in the freezer.
Set burner to medium. Add all the ingredients to a large saucepan. Cook until it begins to boil. As it boils skim the white foam off the top and discard. I cooked it down for about 15-20 minutes.
To test if it’s done, take the cold plate out of the freezer and place a scoop of the jam on it. If it slides down it still needs to cook. If it sticks, it’s done.
Turn burner off and let cool for a minute. Pour into a large mason jar. Let it sit out for a bit. Refrigerate and use within two weeks.
Happy Summer,
