Kings Court Brewing Company in Poughkeepsie.

City of Poughkeepsie might be turning a corner. New restaurants, new construction and somewhat of a facelift. We still have a way to go but it’s going in the right direction. “King’s Court Brewing company” is the newest addition. It’s located at 40 Cannon street. The name comes from a hotel that was once there decades ago called King’s Court. When we were ordering, we met the owner Caroline. She was the sweetest. She asked about Michael and told us she had a baby girl. I loved that she made us feel so welcome with a baby. We told her we lived in walking distance and she said she hoped to see us again. Turns out her husband is the brewmaster. He’s originally from Connecticut and Caroline is from Brooklyn. They specialize in craft beers. I was so excited to see a stout on the menu. Sean loves IPA’s, I’m more a Stout gal.

Out back they had live music and a food truck!

If you’re a craft beer lover like we are, add Kings Court Brewing company to your list. Make sure to get a flight so you can appreciate all the beers they have created. My personal favorites were the “Wee Bee” (a champagne honey ale) and the “Bat exodus nitro milk stout.” They have board games and TV’s to keep you entertained as well.

CHEERS,

Annie XOXO
