For years I’ve been wanting to run through a field of sunflowers. Little did I know there was a local field open to the public. Sean said Sunday was my day to plan something fun. It was a perfect cool day so we hopped in the car and headed to “Hudson Valley cold pressed Oils.” CLICK HERE for their website.
I’m glad we went when they opened. It definitely got crowded around noon. It was free admission. Wear comfortable shoes because it’s a bit of a walk to the field. Once you get there they give you clippers. It’s $3 per sunflower. They give you a vase to hold them in. Not necessary to purchase the vase but you can. There are a lot of bees. To be expected. On the way out, there is a pizza food truck and a tent full of goodies to purchase. Sunflower oil, sunflower flour and cookie mixes. Many beauty products made with sunflower oil as well. My main take away would be to go early and avoid the crowd.
