Gilligan’s at Soho Grand.

I’ve been nagging people to go with me to Soho for these “frozen watermelon margaritas” I saw online. Yesterday Lauren and I decided we’d give it a try. We were really hungover from girls night and needed some hair of the dog. Tequila seemed like a good idea. Sunday funday right? It’s a place called “Gilligan’s.” It’s part of the Soho grand hotel. What’s cool is that when you hear the name Gilligan you think of Gilligan’s Island no? Then naturally you think of palm trees. They are the first thing you see when you get there. You can’t miss it. Heres the entrance. Super cute.

You walk through an Oasis of Palm trees. It’s hard to believe you’re still in NYC.

They have those misty water sprayers  above the bar.

So many places to sit.

They gave us the cutest corner table.

There it is on the menu……the “Frozen Watermelon Margarita.” I know $16 seems like a lot for a drink but in NYC that’s the average.

I can assure you it was strong. Instant buzz. They sprinkle some spice on the watermelon slice. Once you but that you suck down the drink to cook your tongue. Well played Gilligan’s.

I got such a quick buzz we had to order food. I got an avocado toast and Lauren got a Kale salad.

The food was good. Lauren said she would have liked a protein with her salad. Not terrible just basic. I should have gotten the burrata. It looked killer.

The conclusion we came to was that this place has the most unique and chill vibe. Palm trees, anchors, vibrant colors, and super clean. We felt like we were in the florida keys. Maybe you can’t make it to a tropical location this summer. Well now you can feel like your in one. The Marg is worth the visit. Im sure it’s even better for happy hour and at night. Either way I was thrilled we made it. I’m going to play around with my own  watermelon drink recipe while I’m on vacation next week. I’ll let you know how that goes. Stay tuned…..

XOXO, Annie
