I’m not a big ice cream fan but waffles I love. Once I came across a funny looking waffle topped with ice cream on instagram, I had to add it to my list of new places to try in NYC.
Eggloo is the place. They serve up an “egg waffle” stuffed with your choice of ice cream and toppings. It was inspired by street food from Hong Kong.
The easiest route to get there from Penn station is the Express A train. Go two stops and get off on canal street. From there it’s a couple of lefts, a couple of rights and your in Chinatown. 60 Mulberry street to be exact.
-First you choose your waffle. Original, Green tea or chocolate. (I went with the original)
-Next choose a waffle cone or a sundae. I ordered a cone but got a sundae. No complaints though, it turned out for the better. Easier to eat.
-Next you choose the ice cream. I decided to go with the green tea ice cream.
-Lastly the toppings. I chose fruit, sprinkles, and graham cracker dust. After I paid the $8, I was offered a choice of frosted flakes or fruity pebbles for the bottom of the sundae.
Check out all the waffle makers.
BAM!
What’s really great is that there is a beautiful park just across the street. It’s called “Columbus Park.” I sat alone on bench savoring every bite just enjoying the view. Perfect way to end the day.
One last shot of the front.
And the back. Baby got Back!
I don’t know what I loved more, the waffle or the ice cream. With all the topping options, I’ll have to return on a hot summer day. Add Eggloo to your “To Try” list.
XOXO, ANNIE
